This tool can be used to find an estimate for the elevation of a point on the earth. Click/tap the map or type the address in the text box.

Instructions

To use the elevation finder tool:

Zoom and pan the map to find the desired location
Click on the map to place a marker
You will then see the estimated elevation displayed below the map.
Click again to place further markers and find the elevation

Other Notes:

You can find the elevation of any old marker by hovering over the marker with your mouse.
Click clear map to remove all markers from the map
Elevations below zero are not returned and will instead report 0m

Comments

I assume it has negative value as it is compared to the mean sea level, not actual sea level at your location. Common practice for marking altitude. It doesnt mean Everest is 8848 meters aove the sea level, but mean sea level.

I did find that the mediterranean sea has a negative elvation : With reaspect to is the elevation computed please ?

Thank You for sharing. I was wondering if it would be possible to look at elevation above mean sea level and then draw a line on the map for that same height to see how much flooding would affect an area. Thanks again

Would be really nice if it actually worked. Doesn't do a damn thing. Tells me to input the latitude and longitude but doesn't give me any way to do it. Tells me to tap on the map to mark my location so that it can tell me the elevation, then doesn't actually mark my location, but instead just tells me I'm within 100 m of my location which, guess what, I already knew.

Hi. I was interested to highlight on the map a local area, above/under a custom altitude: like 850m. It would also be useful to show some colors altitude like: 0-250m = white, 250-500m light yellow, 500-750m light green, 750-1000 dark green, ..so on. Thanks!

Elevation at point 15.981109966323167, -91.3141595738515 is 12812.7 m. What is wrong with this location? In google maps you can see a black hole there...
