Cities Inside Radius

Instructions

Input a radius to search within in KM or miles. Click on the map or type in an address or ZIP code on the center of your search. After a delay, the cities will appear inside the radius. If you hover over a marker, you will see its the city name.

You can also find a comma separated list of the cities in the large text box in the CSV Output section.

There is a limit to the radius because excessive results can take a long time to load and some web browsers struggle to load them all.

Future Features and Ideas

  • Display the distance from each city to the center of the radius

The tool met my needs excepting I was not able to get a screen shot of the final map. Maybe this is how "free" works?

What to do if a city is missing? Should provide instructions. Example: Madison, SD. A smaller city just to the east is marked, but not Madison. Just one example. Where does this data source from? Can I add a city? That would be nice.

You should let us use the laso tool so we can highlight certain areas of the map instead of just a circle.

It would be nice to filter out cities by minimum population (e.g. 100,000)

A way to filter minimum population would be nice. For example, cities over 50,000 population within 300 miles of a place.

Results should include drive distance from the city that is center of your radius. Example I search cities and towns with 50 mi radius of Memphis, TX the resulting cities/towns should have a drive distance to Memphis, TX.

I now travel for work and was unfamiliar with towns, now I have a list that I will travel to and it was so easy to access! So happy!

Would be good to show zip code of the center of the circle. It is hard to see see if you got a click right as the radius gets large.
By Myron on 28th January 2021
